Evolution Unit
My group made this for our transitional species project.

Comparative Anatomy Review
The purpose of this project was to gain a deeper understanding of different traits that animals have evolved to have through evolution. We were given preserved animals to dissect and observe their characteristics. By looking at their characteristics we were able to compare the biology of animals and their structures that allowed them to thrive( e.g. amphibians breathe through their skin).
The comparative anatomy portion of thee evolution unit helped me learn so much about evolution and evolutionary processes. I learned how to properly use tools for a successful dissection. Transitional species intrigue me and I want to learn more about them. Things I did well was following instructions and staying focused. Somethings that I could've done better would be identifying the structures of the animals and putting more details into my ecology paragraphs. Besides that, the dissections were a success!

Reflection on entire unit
My group and I had successful dissections and our movie was well made. Both of those things were very fun to do. Some things we could've improved on were our posters and our time management. If we had better planned our projects then we wouldn't have had to do get everything jammed in at the last moment. I liked making the video and watching the videos in class about our inner reptile etc. I did not like that ou rhomework was unclear and that we had to learn about the animals we dissected on our own.
Socratic Seminar Reflection
I learned that you don't need to have an opinion and that a socratic seminar is to share your opinions, not to persuade an argument. I wanted to mention that it was not possible to fit two of every animal, including dinosaurs, on a 500 foot ship. I also wanted to ask if there was any evidence that proved the whole world was covered in water at one point.
It was noticeable that during the seminar everyone was trying to prove creationism right or trying to prove it wrong. No one was trying to prove evolution correct. Also, many of the people participating weren't looking at the creationist point of view with an open mind and they got very defensive. I am glad that we had this seminar and I hope we have more seminars on controversial topics.
